NSO Day 2: General Military Training
The day began at 0545 with the Navy Physical Readiness Test. Each student completed the PT test by performing as many situps as they could do in two minutes, as many pushups as they could do in two minutes, and running 1.5 miles as fast as they could. After showers and chow, they had their khaki uniforms tailored. The rest of the day was spent learning about essential aspects of the Navy and Marine Corps including a core values brief, uniform wear and care classes where the students learned to polish shoes and iron uniforms, weapons safety and handling classes, and more close order drill. Although the students had a lot of information presented to them today, they seem eager to learn about life in the military and begin journey as future Naval and Marine Corps officers.
